Vande Mataram

Posted on Jan 25th, 2008 by Prashant : Seeker Prashant
As India celebrates her 59th Republic Day today, I would like to share with you the spirit of India through two beautiful videos of the National Song 'Vande Mataram' produced by  Bala & Kanika.   Originally composed by Bankimchandra Chatterjee, 'Vande Mataram'  in its various renditions remains one of the most inspiring songs in the country -  it means "I Bow to You, My Motherland !"

Vande Mataram/Matarm - Lata Mangeshkar

Vande Mataram - Maa Tujhe Salaam (A.R.Rahman)

Rangoli at School Reunion

Posted on Jan 3rd, 2008 by Prashant : Seeker Prashant
Rangoli Punardarshan Hadas83

This 'Rangoli'  (traditional decoration with colored chalk powder, flowers & oil lamps) was done painstakingly by my classmate  Manisha & her team at our School Reunion on 29th December 2007 to welcome schoolmates who met after 25 years. Another classmate Unmesh captured image of this Beautiful Piece of Art, and I thought it would be a nice idea to share this masterpiece with all of you !

Reflection !

Dehrang_dam_gates

I had designed this structure way back in 2001. An error  in survey led to submergence of a village road, and installation work of dam gates was delayed for a number of years. The road was reconstructed at higher level, and project was commissioned only a month back !

Such incidents are not isolated in our country, and need reflection on part of planners & project authorities.

Anyway, when storage was effected in dam, everyone was mesmerised with the beauty of nature !

What one person do you wish you could reunite with?

Posted on Oct 1st, 2007 by Prashant : Seeker Prashant
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 30, 2007:

Shirawta3
Myself !

Yes, it does sound ridiculus, but I desperately want to reunite with that part of myself which I have lost on way, in this journey called life. I want to be reunited with that person who experienced pure joy in wonderful & timeless creations, unadultrated by things called deadlines, profits & marketability.

One of My Recent Designs - In Operation

Automatic Floodgates of Anjanapura Dam

These gates open out by water pressure alone, when the dam is filled to capacity, and close back when floods recede. No electricity or human intervention is required.

Do you want to leave money in the bank when you die?

Posted on Sep 25th, 2007 by Prashant : Seeker Prashant
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 25, 2007:

Yes, and enough of that  to ensure that  the quality & standard of living of those who support  me in my life is not hampered, and they are not denied any opportunities (good education, medical care, etc)  in their lives just becuase they don't have enough money.
